The Region
The Pyrenees Orientales Departement of France is the most southerly of all
French mainland departments and has a climate much sought after by many
nationalities. Its capital city is Perpignan, which is renowned for its
garnets. Perpignan airport is served by Ryanair, Flybe and Air France.
Perpignan main-line railway station is on the TGV link and can be reached
from London Waterloo in less than 11 hours.
